Compressed air systems come in all shapes and sizes and one of the most overlooked parts of any compressed air system is the Pipework distribution system. The role of the distribution network is to deliver the compressed air from the compressor discharge to the points of use with minimal leakage, minimal loss of pressure and minimal effect on the quality of the air. Friction and leaks cause a pressure drop between the compressor output and the eventual point of use. This lost energy in the distribution network is largely due to its design and layout.
